To participate, you must have purchased tickets to the Annual 4th of July Party. Tickets can be purchased at the check-in table at the event. See prices below.

All participants must check in at the clubhouse before fishing. Only registered participants are eligible for trophies and raffle prizes.

🍩 Donuts, bagels, coffee, and other refreshments will be available at the clubhouse before the derby to help you fuel up for the morning.

A brief captain's meeting will be held at 6:50 a.m. at the clubhouse to review the rules and answer any last-minute questions.

At check-in, you'll receive an official measuring tape, catch log, pen, and trash bag.

🌿 Please help keep Sunset Lake beautiful. Any participant who leaves trash at their fishing location may be disqualified from awards and raffle prizes. Feel free to pick up any litter you come across — it's greatly appreciated!

🪱 Red worms and nightcrawlers may be available at check-in while supplies last, but we recommend bringing your own bait. For bigger fish, we highly recommend fishing with artificial lures.

If you need help removing a hook from a fish or from yourself, please find an adult or stop by the clubhouse for assistance.

📯 Listen for the horn to signal both the start and end of the derby. Fishing begins at approximately 7:00 a.m. and concludes promptly at 9:00 a.m.

🏆 Please return to the clubhouse by 9:15 a.m. for the awards ceremony and raffle drawing.
